Job description
Are you looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference in a busy school environment? Our thriving secondary school in Leicester is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and proactive Site Officer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure that a school operates safely, efficiently, and smoothly every day. As Site Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the school site and ensuring that all facilities are safe, secure, and welcoming for staff, students, and visitors. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of tasks, from daily site management to assisting with school events, making this a dynamic and varied role. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help us maintain high standards across all areas of the school. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of the school site, ensuring health, safety, and security standards are maintained at all times. Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment, identifying issues and coordinating repairs where necessary. Liaise with contractors and service providers for maintenance and improvement projects. Assist with setting up for school events, including assemblies, sports days, and evening functions, ensuring all facilities are safe and ready for use. Monitor and manage access to the site, including security systems and visitor procedures. Maintain accurate records relating to site operations, safety checks, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Skills and Experience: Previous experience in facilities management, site supervision, or caretaking is desirable. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and respond quickly to unexpected situations. Knowledge of basic health and safety regulations and practices. A proactive and flexible approach to tasks, with a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities. This is more than just a maintenance role – it is an essential position that contributes directly to the smooth running and safety of the school community.
