Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Manager to join a high-performing, Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time, permanent role within a well-established and professional support team. HR Manager required – full-time, permanent Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Birmingham Strategic and operational HR leadership role Supportive SLT and strong staff culture May 2026 start The Role The school is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to lead all aspects of HR across the school. You will oversee recruitment, safeguarding compliance, absence management, employee relations, and policy implementation. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in supporting staff wellbeing, retention, and organisational development. About the School This Outstanding school has approximately 1,400 students, including a large sixth form. Staff retention is strong, and the school is known for its positive working environment and high expectations. Systems are well established, and the leadership team is highly supportive. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Proven HR experience, ideally within an education setting Strong knowledge of safeguarding and compliance requirements Experience managing recruitment and employee relations Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders Experience and Qualifications CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above desirable) Experience in a school or public sector environment preferred Application A fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to join an Outstanding school.
