Job description
A dynamic and forward-thinking Good secondary school - Sheffield is seeking an experienced Design Technology Teacher to join its Technology department from September . This is a full-time, permanent position , ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring pupils through practical and creative learning, and committed to developing their skills in Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4. About the Role The successful candidate will teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils develop practical skills, theoretical understanding, and creative confidence. You will plan and deliver lessons that inspire innovation while preparing pupils for GCSE assessments and examinations. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 Supporting pupils’ development in practical, theoretical, and creative aspects of the subject Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations and assessments Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback Maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment Supporting departmental curriculum development and enrichment activities Participating in extracurricular clubs, competitions, and events Contributing to school initiatives and whole-school development Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification Have excellent subject knowledge in Design Technology Be confident teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 Demonstrate strong classroom management skills Be able to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities Work effectively within a collaborative department Be committed to professional development and continuous improvement Why Join This School Good secondary school with supportive leadership Well-equipped Technology department with specialist workshops Collaborative, creative, and professional teaching environment Opportunities for career progression and CPD Positive school culture with motivated pupils Salary Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications.
