Job description
A well-maintained Good-rated primary school in Camden is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join its facilities team with an ASAP start . This is a full-time, permanent position , ideal for someone with practical skills who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The school values the contribution of caretaking staff in ensuring that the school site is fully functional, safe, and well-maintained at all times. The caretaking team works closely with teaching and administrative staff to support the day-to-day operations of the school, contributing to a positive and safe learning environment. About the Role The successful candidate will maintain the school premises and grounds, supporting the smooth running of daily operations and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements. Key responsibilities include: Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs around the school Supporting site security, including opening and closing the school premises Maintaining school grounds, including litter picking and general upkeep Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations Assisting with school events, including setup and breakdown of equipment Reporting issues to the Site Manager and liaising with contractors where necessary Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of school facilities Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Have experience in caretaking, facilities management, or a practical role Demonstrate strong organisational and practical skills Be proactive, reliable, and able to work independently Have a good understanding of health and safety regulations Be a team player with effective communication skills Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks as required Why Join This School Good primary school with supportive leadership Friendly and collaborative staff team Opportunity to make a tangible difference to the school environment Stable and structured working environment Salary Competitive, depending on experience.
