Job description
A high-performing and Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Bristol is seeking an exceptional and experienced Head of Science to lead its successful Science department from September. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Head of Science to take on a key leadership role within a school known for its academic excellence and strong staff culture. The successful Head of Science will oversee the delivery of a broad and engaging Science curriculum across KS3–KS5, driving high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Head of Science required – September start Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Bristol Leadership of a large, high-performing Science department Teaching Science across KS3–KS5 The Role The school is looking for an inspirational Head of Science who can provide strong leadership and strategic direction while maintaining outstanding classroom practice. Key responsibilities of the Head of Science include: Leading and developing the Science department across KS3–KS5 Managing and supporting a team of Science teachers across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Driving curriculum innovation and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment Overseeing assessment, planning, and departmental resources Contributing to whole-school leadership and strategic initiatives The School This Outstanding secondary school in Bristol has an excellent reputation for academic success, strong behaviour, and a supportive learning environment.
