Science Technician – High-Performing Outstanding Secondary School – Norwich, Norfolk Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience School Overview This is an Outstanding Ofsted-rated 11–18 secondary school in Norwich, known for its excellent academic outcomes, strong leadership, and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. Science Department The science department is a well-established and highly successful team, delivering engaging and practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The department benefits from modern laboratories, excellent resources, and a strong emphasis on experimental learning. The Role The school is seeking a skilled and organised Science Technician to support the delivery of practical science lessons. You will play a vital role in preparing equipment, maintaining laboratories, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. Key Responsibilities Prepare and set up equipment for practical lessons Maintain laboratory resources and stock levels Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Support teaching staff during practical sessions Safely store and manage chemicals and equipment Maintain clean and organised laboratory spaces Assist with administrative tasks within the department What We Are Looking For Experience in a science or laboratory setting (education desirable) Strong organisational and practical skills Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a lab environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and reliability Enthusiasm for supporting science education Why Join This School?
