Job description
A prestigious and well-regarded independent school in Gloucestershire is seeking an inspiring and experienced Head of Art to lead its successful Art department from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and ambitious Head of Art to shape a dynamic and engaging curriculum within a school that values artistic expression and academic excellence. The successful Head of Art will teach Art across KS3–KS5, while leading and developing the department to ensure outstanding teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Head of Art required – September start Independent school in Gloucestershire Leadership of a thriving Art department Teaching Art across KS3–KS5 The Role The school is looking for a dynamic and visionary Head of Art who can lead the department with creativity and confidence while delivering inspiring lessons. Responsibilities of the Head of Art include: Leading and developing the Art department across KS3–KS5 Teaching Art, including Fine Art and potentially areas such as Photography or Textiles Driving curriculum innovation and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning Overseeing assessment, tracking progress, and raising attainment Organising exhibitions, showcases, and enrichment opportunities Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the department The School This highly regarded independent school in Gloucestershire is known for its strong academic standards, excellent pastoral care, and rich co-curricular programme. The Ideal Candidate The successful Head of Art will: Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification Have strong experience teaching Art across KS3–KS5 Demonstrate leadership experience or readiness to lead a department Be passionate about developing a vibrant and inclusive Art curriculum Have excellent organisational and communication skills This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Head of Art to join a leading independent school in Gloucestershire and play a key role in shaping a creative and high-performing department.
