Job description
An ambitious Outstanding secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join its thriving Design and Technology department from September . This is a full-time, permanent position , ideal for an enthusiastic teacher who is eager to inspire pupils through practical learning, creativity, and real-world culinary skills. About the Role The successful candidate will deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging pupils to develop cooking skills, nutritional understanding, and confidence in the kitchen. Key responsibilities include: Teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 Planning and delivering practical and theory-based lessons that engage pupils Teaching key areas including nutrition, food preparation, hygiene, and healthy eating Ensuring a safe and organised kitchen environment for all practical lessons Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback Contributing to curriculum development within the Design and Technology department Supporting extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs or food-related projects Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or a related discipline Be confident delivering practical cooking lessons in a classroom kitchen environment Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills Be passionate about food education and promoting healthy lifestyles Work effectively as part of a collaborative teaching team Why Join This School Outstanding secondary school with strong leadership Modern and well-equipped food technology facilities Supportive and collaborative Design and Technology department Excellent professional development opportunities Positive and ambitious school culture Salary Competitive, dependent on experience.
