Job description
A reliable and proactive Independent secondary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated Site Assistant to join its facilities team with an ASAP start . This is a full-time, permanent position , ideal for someone with practical maintenance experience who takes pride in keeping the school buildings and grounds safe, clean, and well-maintained. The Site Assistant plays a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school, ensuring that facilities are secure, functional, and ready to support teaching and learning. About the Role The successful candidate will assist with site maintenance, security, and general operational duties. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs Ensuring buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and secure Monitoring building systems including heating, lighting, and security Supporting health and safety procedures, including fire safety checks Assisting with school events and room setups Liaising with contractors and external service providers Reporting site issues to the Site Manager Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Have experience in facilities support, caretaking, or site management Be confident using basic tools and equipment safely Demonstrate reliability and practical problem-solving skills Understand health and safety procedures Be proactive and able to work independently Possess good communication and teamwork skills Why Join This School Independent school with supportive leadership Friendly and collaborative facilities team Opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the school Stable and well-organised working environment Salary Competitive, depending on experience.
