A welcoming Independent primary school in Peterborough is seeking a professional and organised School Receptionist to join its front office team with an ASAP start . This is a full-time, permanent position , ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy school environment and supporting pupils, parents, and staff. The Receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors and families, ensuring a warm, efficient, and safe environment at all times. About the Role The successful candidate will manage the reception area, support administrative tasks, and assist with day-to-day office operations. Key responsibilities include: Greeting and assisting visitors, staff, and pupils professionally Managing incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently Maintaining visitor logs and issuing passes in line with safeguarding procedures Supporting administrative tasks including filing, record keeping, and documentation Assisting with pupil registration and attendance monitoring Ensuring the reception area is organised, welcoming, and secure Supporting other office tasks as required Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Have experience in a reception or administrative role, ideally within a school Be organised, professional, and able to multitask effectively Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Be proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team Why Join This School Independent primary school with supportive leadership Friendly and collaborative administrative team Opportunities for professional development Positive and welcoming working environment Salary Competitive, depending on experience.
