Job description
Are you a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist looking to be the first point of contact in a welcoming school environment? A respected Independent school in Reading is seeking a Receptionist to manage the front office, provide administrative support, and ensure a positive experience for pupils, parents, and visitors. This is a full-time or part-time permanent position , suitable for candidates with excellent communication and organisational skills. The Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the front of the school, welcoming visitors, answering enquiries, and supporting the administrative team. About the Role As Receptionist, you will be responsible for the professional management of the school’s front desk, handling calls, visitors, and administrative tasks efficiently. You will ensure the school office runs smoothly and contribute to a welcoming environment. Key responsibilities include: Greeting pupils, parents, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner Answering phone calls and email enquiries promptly and efficiently Managing appointments, school diaries, and visitor logs Supporting administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and document preparation Assisting with admissions and enrolment processes as required Ensuring the reception area is organised and welcoming Experience and Skills The successful candidate will: Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be highly organised and capable of multitasking Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude Be proficient in Microsoft Office and office systems Work effectively both independently and as part of a team Have experience in a receptionist or administrative role (desirable) Why Join This School?
