Job description

A well-regarded secondary school in Ipswich is seeking a professional, organised, and proactive HR Assistant to join their Human Resources team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent role providing essential support in all aspects of HR administration, helping ensure smooth staff management and compliance across the school. The role involves assisting with recruitment, staff records, compliance, and general HR administration to ensure staff processes run smoothly. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with recruitment processes, including preparing job adverts, coordinating interviews, and managing communications with candidates. Maintaining and updating staff personnel records and databases accurately. Supporting onboarding and induction processes for new staff members. Assisting with payroll documentation, leave records, and contract administration. Supporting compliance with safeguarding, employment law, and school HR policies. Preparing letters, reports, and documentation for staff and senior leadership as required. Responding professionally to HR-related enquiries from staff and external stakeholders. Supporting staff development initiatives, training records, and professional development tracking. Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and processes. Candidate Requirements Previous experience in HR administration, office support, or a related field is desirable. Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HR databases or school management systems is advantageous. Professional, proactive, and reliable approach. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience within a school or educational setting is highly desirable but not essential.
