The role is crucial in supporting the smooth running of the school by ensuring all areas are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with routine maintenance and minor repairs across school premises. Supporting the setup and breakdown of school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe environment in classrooms, offices, communal spaces, and outdoor areas. Monitoring Health & Safety compliance across the site, including reporting hazards or maintenance issues. Assisting with grounds maintenance, including general upkeep of outdoor areas, pathways, and school equipment. Helping to manage waste disposal, recycling, and general site cleanliness. Supporting other site staff in tasks as required, including security duties and basic building inspections. Acting as a point of contact for staff and contractors on site-related issues. Candidate Requirements Previous experience in caretaking, facilities, or site support is desirable but not essential. Practical skills for basic maintenance tasks are advantageous. Awareness of Health & Safety regulations and ability to maintain compliance. Strong organisational skills, reliability, and proactive approach. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Good communication skills for liaising with staff, contractors, and visitors.
