Group Trainer - Maternity Secondment Location: Hybrid - Chesterfield or Coventry Salary: Competitive, reflective of experience Contract: Fixed-term maternity secondment You’ll be part of a collaborative People Team, delivering engaging training programmes that enhance capability, improve performance, and support career progression. This is an excellent opportunity to shape learning initiatives across multiple teams while gaining exposure to a range of talent and operational challenges. Role summary As a Group Trainer (maternity secondment) you will design, deliver and evaluate high-quality training across sales, recruitment and corporate teams. You will collaborate with line managers and subject matter experts to assess learning needs, create blended learning solutions (virtual and in-person) and measure the impact of development activities. You will act as a champion for best practice in onboarding, skills development and performance enablement. Key responsibilities: Learning needs analysis Work with regional leaders to identify capability gaps and priority training requirements. Use data, feedback and observation to inform learning design and prioritisation. Design & delivery Create engaging learning materials, facilitator guides and e-learning content aligned to business objectives. Deliver workshops, classroom sessions and virtual training to diverse colleague groups across our brands. Develop and maintain onboarding and induction programmes to accelerate new starter productivity. Evaluation & continuous improvement Implement assessment methods to evaluate training effectiveness and behavioural change. Provide stakeholders with clear reporting and actionable recommendations to improve outcomes. Stakeholder engagement Partner with People Team and Operations teams to ensure learning is practical and aligned to commercial goals. Coach managers to embed learning into everyday performance conversations and development plans. Administration & systems Maintain training records, manage bookings and use learning management systems and CRM tools to track progress. Manage budgets for learning activities where required. Essential skills & experience: Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with confidence delivering to all levels of the business. Strong stakeholder management and coaching experience to influence adoption of learning initiatives. Comfortable using learning technologies, experience with e-learning authoring tools is an advantage. Analytical mindset with the ability to measure and report on learning impact. Organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities across a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
