Pastoral Manager – Exceptional Secondary School – Nottingham Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience School Information This is a well-established 11–18 Independent secondary school in Nottingham , recognised for its high academic standards and outstanding pastoral care. The Role The school is seeking an experienced and highly organised Pastoral Manager to lead and coordinate student support systems across a designated year group or key stage. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring students receive the guidance, support, and encouragement necessary to succeed both academically and personally. The Pastoral Manager will work closely with teachers, senior leaders, parents, and external agencies to support student wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to supporting young people. Key Responsibilities Leading pastoral support for a designated cohort of students Monitoring behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing data Supporting students facing academic, behavioural, or personal challenges Working closely with teaching staff to support student progress Communicating regularly with parents and carers regarding student wellbeing Coordinating interventions to support students who require additional support Supporting behaviour management strategies across the school Maintaining accurate records and monitoring systems Contributing to safeguarding and student support procedures Student Support Ethos Pastoral care is central to the school’s success. Person Specification The successful candidate will demonstrate: Experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting Strong organisational and leadership skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities A calm and confident approach to behaviour management The ability to build positive relationships with students and families A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing Experience working in secondary schools or similar educational environments would be beneficial.
