We are seeking a full-time Caretaker to join a prestigious independent school in Bristol, starting ASAP. This permanent position offers the opportunity to maintain and manage the school’s facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The school campus includes modern classrooms, sports facilities, and specialist teaching areas that require attentive maintenance and care. About the Role The Caretaker will be responsible for the overall maintenance, security, and smooth running of the school premises. You will work closely with administrative and teaching staff to ensure the facilities meet the highest standards for safety and functionality. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring the school buildings, grounds, and facilities are well-maintained, safe, and clean. Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required. Managing the security of the site, including locking/unlocking and monitoring alarms. Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and external service providers. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and incidents. Supporting the setup of rooms and facilities for events, assemblies, and activities. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and risk assessments. Experience and Qualifications Previous experience in caretaking, facilities management, or maintenance roles. Basic practical and DIY skills, including minor repairs and building maintenance. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
