Computer Science Teacher Independent School in Birmingham Competitive Salary Full-Time/Permanent Start in September 2026 Looking to inspire innovation, develop problem-solvers and shape the next generation? A respected independent school in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Computer Science Teacher to join its thriving STEM and Computing provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach motivated students in an environment where technology, innovation, and digital literacy are strongly supported. About the Role The successful candidate will deliver engaging Computer Science lessons across the age range, fostering critical thinking, computational skills, and creativity. You will contribute to a wide-ranging programme that includes coding, digital projects, and enrichment activities central to school life. You will join a department that values innovation, high standards of teaching, and student engagement, while maintaining a collaborative and inclusive culture. Key Responsibilities Teach Computer Science across KS3–KS5, including GCSE and A-Level classes. Plan, deliver, and assess lessons that develop programming, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills. Contribute to curriculum design, resources, and enrichment activities such as coding clubs, competitions, and digital projects. Support students in developing collaborative, analytical, and independent learning skills. Work collaboratively with colleagues in STEM, ICT, and across the wider school community. The Ideal Candidate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Recognised teaching qualification with QTS (e.g. PGCE) or equivalent. Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for computing, coding, and digital innovation. Ability to inspire and support pupils of all abilities. Excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills. Legal right to work in the UK.
