About the Role As an IT Support Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the school’s IT systems. You will assist staff and students with technical issues, support network and device management, and help ensure the school’s technology infrastructure operates smoothly. Key responsibilities include: Providing first-line IT support to staff and students, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues Setting up and maintaining devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets, and interactive displays Assisting with user accounts, permissions, and access to school systems Supporting the installation and configuration of new software and updates Monitoring and maintaining IT systems, networks, and infrastructure under guidance from senior IT staff Maintaining accurate records of IT assets, support requests, and resolutions Supporting staff and students in using technology effectively in lessons and administrative tasks Liaising with external IT contractors and suppliers when necessary Ensuring compliance with data protection and safeguarding policies Experience and Skills The ideal candidate will: Have experience providing IT support or working in a technical environment Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networks Be able to work independently and as part of a team Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be organised, proactive, and reliable in responding to IT issues Understand the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality in a school setting Experience within a school environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided where needed.
