Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Watford is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Geography to join its supportive Humanities department. This is an excellent opportunity for a geographer who is passionate about helping students understand the world, think critically and develop strong analytical and enquiry skills. About the Role As Teacher of Geography , you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with the potential to contribute to KS5 depending on experience and timetable. You will deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops: Strong place knowledge and understanding of physical and human processes Map, graph and data interpretation skills through regular practice Enquiry and investigative thinking through contemporary case studies Extended writing and evaluation through modelling, scaffolding and purposeful feedback Exam confidence through deliberate practice and consistent routines Students explore topics such as tectonics, weather and climate, rivers and coasts, ecosystems, urban change, development and global challenges. Lessons are designed to encourage discussion and debate while ensuring students build secure knowledge and strong exam technique. The Department The Humanities department is supportive and well-organised, with a shared commitment to high standards and strong outcomes. Teachers collaborate closely on planning, share resources and use consistent approaches to assessment and feedback to ensure students make strong progress.
