Job description
Are you a skilled and motivated IT professional looking to work in a dynamic and supportive school environment? We are seeking a full-time IT Technician to join a high-achieving Outstanding school in High Wycombe, starting ASAP. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to support the school’s technology infrastructure and play a key role in enabling effective teaching and learning through reliable IT systems. The IT department is a highly valued part of the school community and works closely with teaching and administrative teams to ensure systems operate efficiently. About the Role As an IT Technician, you will provide technical support to staff and students while maintaining the school’s IT systems and hardware. Key responsibilities include: Providing first-line technical support for staff and students. Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, laptops, and classroom technology. Supporting the school network, printers, and AV equipment. Assisting with troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Supporting the implementation of new IT systems and digital learning tools. Maintaining accurate records of support requests and system updates. Assisting with system security, backups, and updates. You will work closely with the wider IT team and school leadership to ensure that all technology systems remain reliable, secure, and effective in supporting teaching and learning. Experience and Qualifications Previous experience in IT support, technician, or helpdesk roles. Knowledge of Windows operating systems, networks, and hardware troubleshooting. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to support non-technical users. A proactive and professional approach to IT support.
