Job description

A vibrant and creative secondary school in Nottingham is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to join their successful Arts department ASAP . This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to inspiring creativity and helping students develop artistic skills, confidence, and self-expression. Art Teacher – full-time, permanent Secondary school in Nottingham Start date: ASAP Competitive teaching salary dependent on experience About the Role The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire students through creative projects, experimentation with different media, and exploration of art history and contemporary artistic practice. Responsibilities will include: Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons aligned with the national curriculum. Teaching a variety of artistic techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Supporting students in developing creativity, technical skills, and personal artistic style. Preparing students for GCSE Art examinations and coursework requirements. Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to support progress. Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and interests. Maintaining a safe and organised art classroom and studio environment. Encouraging students to explore artistic influences and cultural perspectives. Supporting school exhibitions, displays, and creative projects. Collaborating with colleagues within the Arts department to share resources and best practices. Candidate Requirements The school is looking for a passionate and motivated teacher who enjoys encouraging students to explore their creativity. Applicants should have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Strong subject knowledge in Art and Design. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. The ability to inspire creativity and enthusiasm in students. Commitment to supporting students academically and personally.
