Job description
We are excited to be working with an Outstanding secondary school in Manchester to recruit a high-calibre Science Technician. This full-time, permanent position is available for an April 2026 start and offers a fantastic opportunity to join a successful Science department. We are looking for a proactive individual who can provide meticulous technical support, ensuring laboratories remain safe and organized for students to achieve their highest potential. Responsibilities Prepare equipment and chemical solutions for KS3 and KS4 practical lessons Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure consistently outstanding quality Support the department in upholding the highest standards of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations Assist students and staff during practical sessions with technical expertise Manage stock control and the procurement of laboratory materials Qualifications and Experience Degree or background in Science (Chemistry, Biology, or Physics) Previous experience as a technician or in a laboratory environment Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to laboratory safety Must have the right to work in the UK Salary and Benefits Competitive Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 (FTE) Full-time, permanent position with an April start Dedicated member of the SLT responsible for staff wellbeing Access to modern technology and a supportive working environment How to Apply If you’re a dedicated professional ready to join an outstanding school community, submit your CV now!
