Finance Manager – Professional Secondary School – Tunbridge Wells, Kent Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This is a well-established 11–18 Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Tunbridge Wells, Kent with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. Efficient financial management is essential to maintaining these standards and ensuring resources are used effectively. The Role The school is seeking an experienced and organised Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of the school. This is an important leadership support role responsible for ensuring the school’s financial systems operate efficiently and transparently. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team to support budgeting, financial planning and financial monitoring across the school. The Finance Manager will ensure that resources are managed effectively and that the school maintains strong financial practices that support its long-term strategic goals. Key Responsibilities Managing the school’s financial systems and processes Preparing and monitoring the school budget Producing financial reports for senior leaders and governors Overseeing financial transactions and expenditure Managing procurement processes and supplier relationships Supporting payroll administration and staff financial records Monitoring financial compliance and audit requirements Supporting long-term financial planning across the school Person Specification The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong financial management experience Excellent organisational and analytical skills Ability to manage budgets and financial reporting Knowledge of financial systems and accounting procedures Strong communication and teamwork skills A proactive and detail-oriented approach Experience working in education finance would be beneficial but is not essential.
