About the role
This is a full-time role based onsite at our facility in Colnbrook on Poyle Trading Estate.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
·Inspecting, repairing and servicing the cargo movement and handling equipment;
·Maintenance of cable drum brakes, wheel bearings, conveyor roller beds, and chassis turntables;
·Welding.
Qualifications
About You
As a Fitter, we would ask you bring the following skills and experience:
·A basic understanding of simple mechanical systems;
·Practical experience with mechanical systems gained through previous employment, education, or relevant hobbies/interests;
·Confident with hands‑on, practical tasks;
·Entry‑level (Level 2) English literacy skills;
·Ability to perform effectively under pressure;
·A proactive and motivated approach to learning in a hands‑on environment;
·Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
·Experience with welding is also desirable.
Additional Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to undertake security vetting, which includes a criminal records check and the provision of five years’ continuous education and/or employment references.
