Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Supplier Quality Engineer supporting our SGT business, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality standards across our supply chain. Your day will be dynamic and engaging, filled with interactions with suppliers as you lead product qualifications and manage process changes. You will address and contain non-conformances while analysing data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will foster strong relationships with our valued suppliers, working in a global, multicultural environment where networking is key to your success. Your contributions will directly impact our operational excellence and commitment to quality.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Product and Process Qualifications: Lead teams in conducting Product and Process Qualifications (PPQ), ensuring suppliers adhere to Siemens Energy Quality Management Processes and tools.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Engage with suppliers to resolve process-related issues, including managing non-conformance and implementing containment strategies.
  • Quality Performance Oversight: Monitor supplier quality performance, initiate corrective and preventive actions, and drive quality improvement programmes and risk mitigation measures.
  • Supplier Assessment and Auditing: Collaborate with a multi-functional team to assess and audit supplier capabilities, ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy standards.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously track and report on supplier quality performance, contributing to key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicating potential risks.

What You Bring

  • Technical and Engineering Expertise: A solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing, with demonstrable experience in leading product qualifications (PPAP, APQP, or similar) and managing supplier quality issues from start to finish. Proficiency in inspection methodologies and drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is essential.
  • Quality and Risk Management Skills: Strong knowledge of quality methods (5 Whys, FMEA, 8D, RCA) and risk management, focusing on product functionality, delivery, cost, and resource constraints. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and Supplier Quality Management (SQM) is advantageous.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business. Experience working in a global environment with cultural awareness and the capability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
  • Commitment and Willingness to Travel: A strong commitment to collaboration and structured work habits, with a readiness to travel as required.

You will join a diverse team with a wealth of experience, where learning from one another is encouraged.
