Purpose of the Role

Provide general support to the Rail Grinding & Milling team in delivering an efficient and optimised service to the business. In particular, tracking and managing safety work packs on behalf of Network Rail. Ensuring the packs are signed off and returned to the Network Rail delivery unit in the specified timeframes. Overseeing the ordering of water and Fuel of the machines ensuring delivery takes place on the specified dates.

Person Specification

  • Highly proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise work, and achieve deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Team player with an ability to work on own initiative
  • Proven ability to work to changing deadlines and able to multi-task
  • Ability to gather robust data and produce clear reports when required
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals at all levels and using a range of methods including face to face, telephone and email.
  • Excellent organisation skills, including ability to prioritise and work within contractual deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative also as a team member, providing support to the team as and when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate Safety Work Packs
  • Ordering of Fuel and water for the Rail Grinders
  • General administrative duties
  • Trained in Fleet Asset Management Systems
  • Trained in NROL planning system
  • Any other administrative reasonable duties as required
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals at all levels and using a range of methods including face to face, telephone and email.
  • Excellent organisation skills, including ability to prioritise and work within contractual deadlines
  • Data inputting on Colas systems
  • As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
