BIM Project Manager

SP Energy Networks, Fullarton Drive, Glasgow East Investment Park, Cambuslang. G32 8FA

Salary from £55,000 with excellent benefits

Permanent

Closing Date: 17th July 2026

Purpose

The Strategic Projects team within SP Energy Networks is embarking on a programme of reinforcement works in excess of £5.4 billion over the next 5 to 10 years. The digitisation and organisation of information from early design stages to commissioning will be key to the successful delivery of projects. The adoption of new technologies such as BIM and common data models will be key to ensuring projects are developed and commissioned efficiently and collaboratively.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be at the forefront of innovation as BIM Project Manager as you will enable the business to implement BIM technologies and processes for the design and construction of SP Transmission's infrastructure.

We know that our people are our strongest asset, at the heart of all business visions and activities are the people whose individual efforts and performance make it happen. We encourage our people to be proud of where they work, to share their ideas and to own their careers. We promote a safe working environment and push people to shape and progress their careers so that we grow our talent within the company.

Responsibilities
Driving the implementation of processes and technologies through the life cycle of projects, ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO 19650 and internal and external procedures, you will set internal processes and procedures for the implementation of BIM, liaising with suppliers and the wider industry to ensure the continual improvement of technology implementation, bringing further efficiencies throughout the project life cycle.

Streamlining the utilisation of data, ensuring all stakeholders are working to the same models and design to significantly reduce risk, re-work or modification to projects, these actions will enable SP Transmission and Contractors to exchange information accurately and securely, utilising a common data environment and cloud technologies.

Involving Common Data Environment management, you will assist Project Managers to utilise BIM technologies and lead design clash resolution meetings to ensure a single source of information.

Liaising with clients and subcontractors regarding information exchanges and coordination, you will take ownership of the Master/Task Team information delivery plan.

What you'll bring

Experienced in project delivery, managing delivery of changes across business teams and services, you will be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

Highly organised with excellent time management abilities, you will be proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, you will understand the fundamental principles and utilisation of a Common Data environment, preferably Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and possess the ability to use Revit for drafting 3D models and incorporating metadata.

Understanding the deployment of BS EN ISO 19650 and its supporting appendices, you will be familiar in planning work delivery, stakeholder communications and change management.

Whats in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
