About the Job

The ImPact is a US-based nonprofit organization with team members spread around the world. We are looking for a Communications Manager to support shaping and stewarding The ImPact’s communications strategy, voice, and narrative coherence across member-facing and external channels. This is a remote full-time position.

The Communications Manager role plays a central part in ensuring that how The ImPact communicates reflects the depth, values, and intent of the community, while remaining clear, accessible, and actionable.

The individual will work closely with leadership, the member experiences team, and global community leads to translate complex ideas into compelling communications that support members, partners, and the organization’s long‑term vision.

This is a hands‑on role suited for someone who can think strategically, write well, and execute confidently in a small, global, mission‑driven organization. The role reports to the Director of Experiences, while working closely with senior leadership across the organization.

We are a global, remote team with team members based in the US, England, France, Chile, Brazil, and Singapore. We work across multiple time zones, and our core ways of working are anchored in a combination of virtual synchronous meetings and asynchronous discussion and collaboration in writing and using other virtual collaborative tools. We also believe that consistent in‑person connection and collaboration are important for relationship building, team members’ professional growth, and effective work. Our global team meets in person at least once a year during a team retreat or at our global annual member events.

The ImPact offers competitive salaried compensation, commensurate with experience and location, and generous benefits that vary by labor market. The base salary range for this role is $85,000‑$100,000 USD for U.S.-based candidates. For those joining us from other regions, compensation is localized to your specific labor market. Offers are adjusted based on local market norms, cost of labor, and regional statutory requirements to ensure equitable pay across our global team.

Location: Flexible. We are a virtual team, but East Coast, United States, or United Kingdom, Europe preferred.

Travel expectation: 2–3 trips per year to support major global events and team convenings.

Language: Native‑level English (other languages a bonus).

Reports to: Director of Experiences

Primary Responsibilities

Communications Strategy & Voice

  • Support the development and ongoing refinement of The ImPact’s communications strategy
  • Serve as the day‑to‑day steward of The ImPact’s brand voice, tone, and messaging across channels
  • Develop and maintain simple messaging frameworks that help teams communicate consistently
  • Manage content on public and member‑facing websites and portals
  • Translate complex ideas (impact investing, systems change, wealth management) into clear, engaging messaging and materials for organisational outputs such as events, training, and publications

Content Design & Execution

  • Lead planning and production of core member‑facing communications (e.g., newsletters, the member portal, and website content)
  • Write, edit, and finalize content, incorporating inputs from a global team
  • Maintain high standards of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism across all communications
  • Own quality control and the sign‑off process
  • Create clear, visually engaging presentations and slide‑based materials (PowerPoint / Google Slides) to support events, member communications, and workshops
  • Lead communications planning and execution for The ImPact’s global and regional events, including development of messaging timelines, invitations, registration communications, and post‑event follow‑up
  • Draft, edit, and manage event‑related content such as agendas, session descriptions, speaker materials, and participant communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voice
  • Partner closely with the Events Manager to support event program design and participant experience and engagement
  • Partner with program and event leads to shape messaging for events, curriculum, and initiatives
  • Coordinate on communication inputs with external partners for initiatives and publications

Project & Process Management

  • Design and manage internal communications workflows (intake, prioritisation, review, sign‑off)
  • Manage competing priorities across time zones with clarity and calm
  • Communicate proactively to align expectations on timelines and outputs
  • Monitor feedback and engagement to inform ongoing improvements

External Communications

  • Provide support on external‑facing communications as organisational needs evolve
  • Support leadership with messaging preparation for public‑facing engagements when relevant
  • Coordinate with external communications or PR partners as organisational needs evolve

Values & Ways of Working

  • Mission‑driven, with a genuine interest in social and environmental impact and a commitment to supporting our members
  • Collaborative and collegial, able to work across teams, working styles, time zones, and disciplines while maintaining clarity and ownership
  • Consistent and dependable, following through on commitments and creating trust through high standards and clear communication
  • Thoughtful and empathetic, communicating with care, respect, and attention to impact and the privacy of our members
  • Curious and reflective, open to learning, feedback, and new approaches

Job Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in communications, marketing, or content development (ideally in an investing or philanthropic context)
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience operating at both strategic and executional levels, and willingness to own the full communications process independently
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides: a visual thinker who can create visually appealing presentations and content
  • Experience working cross‑functionally in small or growing organisations
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise
  • Experience leveraging generative AI and automation tools

Salary Range

$85,000‑$100,000 USD

About the Organization

The ImPact is a global membership community for families committed to aligning their assets with their values. We are a nonprofit organization, registered in the United States in 2014. Our mission is to help families make more impact investments more effectively; our purpose is to improve the probability and pace of solving social and environmental problems by increasing the flow of capital to investments generating measurable impact.

Today, The ImPact connects a community of more than 90 families from 20 countries on five continents. We gather at global summits, regional convenings, dedicated working groups, and immersive field trips.

Everything The ImPact does is built on a foundation of peer‑to‑peer exchange: members share knowledge, insight, and opportunities to convert their interest in impact investing into action. Whether they are beginners or leading experts, The ImPact works with families to build a customised plan of membership that will provide the experiences, best practices, and relationships they need to progress toward their impact goals. Our operations are funded through members’ annual contributions and grants and donations from families and foundations keen to support its work or specific projects.

We are committed to supporting emergent collaboration by our members to push on the frontiers of impact finance. New projects and initiatives are developed in “The Lab,” The ImPact’s incubator for research and co‑creation of innovative, impact‑driven initiatives that are unlikely to otherwise occur. Lab projects come in many forms, but they all address significant gaps in local, regional, or global impact investing markets and ecosystems. They push on significant points of leverage of the financial system and are designed to have impact beyond themselves. Lab initiatives play with ideas, structures, practices, or stakeholder groups that are new or unproven in the market in which the project exists. Since 2021, The ImPact Lab has supported the launch of four major initiatives: Trimtab Impact, the Transformation Capital Initiative, the Ownership Capital Lab, and the Innovative Finance Initiative.
