Job description
History Teacher – Inspire Scholarly Interest in Medieval History and Lead Extended Essay Writing at KS5 – Hertfordshire An academically focused secondary school in Hertfordshire is recruiting a dedicated and experienced History Teacher with a specialization in Medieval or Early Modern history from January 2026. History Teacher required from January 2026 Hertfordshire-based school known for its strong scholarly atmosphere in the Humanities. Seeking a specialist to lead the development of extended research and essay skills at A-Level. You will teach History across KS3-KS5, ensuring the curriculum is challenging and skills-focused. The role includes developing departmental expertise in scaffolding complex historical arguments and preparing students for competitive university applications. Experience and Qualifications Qualified Teacher Status ( QTS ) and a degree in History (specializing in pre-1700 history). Proven ability to secure high grades at A-Level History. Experience in curriculum design focusing on analytical and research skills. Willingness to contribute to academic enrichment programs, such as history clubs or EPQ mentoring.
