Job description
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher – Thriving SEN School – Bristol – April Start Location: Bristol Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance A highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teacher is required to join a thriving and inclusive SEN school in Bristol. This school is known for its outstanding support for students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and complex learning needs. The school has a strong ethos of inclusivity and personalised learning, ensuring that every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially. Why Join This School? Your Role as an SEN Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the diverse needs of SEN students. Differentiate teaching materials to suit a variety of learning abilities and communication styles. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to provide holistic support for students. Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence. Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Engage with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students. Who We’re Looking For: A qualified SEN Teacher with experience working with students with additional needs. A patient, empathetic, and resilient teaching approach. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment. Experience using alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS) is an advantage. A commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring that every child reaches their full potential. An Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
