Job description
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire Start Date: January 2026 Salary: Paid to scale (MPS – ECT) A secondary school in Stevenage is seeking a Religious Studies ECT to join its Humanities department. Role Overview The successful candidate will teach RS at KS3 and KS4, delivering lessons that promote ethical discussion, philosophical enquiry and respectful debate. The department offers strong mentoring, structured CPD and a reduced teaching load during the ECT year. This role is ideal for an ECT passionate about discussion-based learning within a supportive school environment. The School This 11–18 mixed secondary school educates approximately 1,250 pupils and is recognised for its inclusive culture and strong behaviour systems. Humanities staff work collaboratively and are well supported by leadership.
