Sociology Teacher – Exciting Opportunity in Leatherhead! Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher seeking a rewarding role in a secondary school setting? A dynamic secondary school in Leatherhead is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Sociology Teacher to join their thriving Social Sciences/Humanities department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Sociology Teacher to inspire students and contribute to a school with a strong commitment to academic excellence and social understanding. The appointed Sociology Teacher will play a crucial role in fostering students' critical thinking and understanding of society and social issues. Job Title: Sociology Teacher Location: Leatherhead (Specific school details will be provided to shortlisted candidates only) Department: Social Sciences / Humanities / Sociology Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent What We're Looking For: We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of Sociology and a commitment to providing high-quality education. The ideal candidate will be: A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent). Experienced in teaching Sociology at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Sociology). Passionate about Sociology and able to inspire students of all abilities. An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills. Committed to raising student achievement and fostering critical thinking, research skills, and an understanding of social issues. A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community. Dedicated to their own professional development. An outstanding Sociology Teacher Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons across the relevant Key Stages. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback. Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes critical discussion, research, and analysis within Sociology. Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department and across the school. Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
