Job description
An exceptional independent school in West Sussex is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 2–3 Teacher to join their team from January 2026 . This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to deliver outstanding teaching to lower Key Stage 2 pupils, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development. You will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team that values creativity, curiosity, and the joy of learning. Lower Primary Teacher Role Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Location: West Sussex Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The School This welcoming and inclusive independent preparatory school in West Sussex is known for its commitment to both academic excellence and personal growth. Year 2–3 Teacher Responsibilities - Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for Year 2 and Year 3 pupils - Inspire and motivate learners through a variety of creative teaching strategies - Assess, record, and monitor pupil progress, providing clear feedback and setting targets for improvement - Work collaboratively with colleagues to enrich the Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2 curriculum - Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment - Build strong relationships with parents and guardians to support pupil development - Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, and wider school life Key Requirements Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - Proven experience teaching KS1 or lower KS2 pupils (Year 2 or Year 3 experience desirable) - Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective assessment practices - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to tailor teaching to meet the needs of individual learners - Commitment to professional growth and maintaining high teaching standards - A collaborative, flexible approach and enthusiasm for working within a dynamic school community Application If this Lower Primary Teacher opportunity in West Sussex excites you, please submit your application along with an updated CV.
