Job description
About the School: A welcoming and inclusive Church of England secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated and passionate History Teacher to join our thriving Humanities department. About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds to explore the fascinating world of history. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students' curiosity about the past and its relevance to the present day. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging History lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum and the school's Christian ethos. Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore historical events, figures, and periods with critical thinking and analytical skills. Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in history education. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential. Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting intellectual curiosity and a passion for historical inquiry. Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings. Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified History Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of the past. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for history, with a strong understanding of historical concepts, periods, and methodologies. Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. A willingness to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
