Job description
About the School: This caring Catholic school in Hounslow provides a supportive and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to explore their creative talents through drama. The drama department is well-equipped with a dedicated drama studio and performance space, supporting a range of theatrical activities. We aim to foster a love of drama and performance, encouraging students to develop their acting, directing, and stagecraft skills. The school has a strong tradition of drama productions, often incorporating themes of social justice and ethical reflection, and offers a range of extracurricular drama clubs and workshops. About the Role: As a full-time Drama ECT, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured Drama lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a wide range of theatrical techniques, script analysis, and performance styles. You will develop and adapt resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students, promoting creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. You will assess student progress through performances, written evaluations, and participation in group projects, providing timely and constructive feedback. You will also participate in the school’s ECT program, including regular mentor meetings and professional development, and contribute to departmental meetings and extracurricular drama activities. Ideal Candidate: You should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Drama or a related field, with a strong understanding of theatrical techniques and performance practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as is the ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creative talents. You should also possess a commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues. A passion for incorporating themes of social justice and ethical reflection into drama productions is desirable.
