Job description
RS Teacher required January 2026 Independent co-ed school based in Bury St Edmunds RS Teacher to join a reflective, intellectually curious and academically enriched RS department Our Client is seeking an RS Teacher to teach KS3–KS5, covering Philosophy, Ethics and World Religions within a department that values open discussion, analytical thinking and academic rigour. School Information This independent 11–18 school educates approximately 690 pupils and is widely respected for its calm learning atmosphere, outstanding behaviour and rich curriculum across the Humanities. The RS department benefits from modern teaching spaces, digital research tools, an extensive Philosophy and Ethics library and strong cross-departmental links with English, History and Sociology. Pupils are highly engaged, polite and eager to tackle complex questions through debate, essay writing and project-based learning. Teachers describe the school as exceptionally supportive, with leadership that promotes autonomy, creativity and professional dialogue. Staff benefit from smaller class sizes, guided marking policies, collaborative planning sessions and substantial CPD funding.
