Job description
Opportunity to support the day-to-day upkeep and safety of a friendly, close-knit school community This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Assistant to become an integral part of a supportive site and operations team within a charming private school in Reading where pupils are known as individuals and the learning environment is safe, clean and well cared for. The role is varied and hands-on, supporting the general maintenance, security and smooth running of the school site. The school values staff who take pride in their work and enjoy contributing to the wider life of the school. The successful candidate will assist with routine maintenance, basic repairs, health and safety checks, site security and contractor supervision, helping to ensure the school remains a safe, functional and welcoming place for pupils, staff and visitors. Experience and Qualifications Experience in a maintenance, caretaking or facilities role (school or education setting desirable but not essential) Practical skills in basic repairs, maintenance and use of hand and power tools Understanding of health and safety procedures and safe working practices Ability to carry out routine checks and report defects or issues promptly Organised, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a small team Positive, professional approach when working around pupils and staff Eligibility to work in the UK School Information This independent school in Reading is proud of its strong sense of community, traditional values and commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment.
