Full time | Start ASAP | Grammar School near Manchester Piccadilly Station | Competitive Salary Are you a practical, reliable and proactive Caretaker who takes pride in maintaining buildings and grounds to a high standard? We are working with a high-performing Grammar School near Manchester Piccadilly Station known for academic excellence, strong pastoral care and a respectful, motivated student body. The school benefits from fantastic facilities, modern buildings and well-kept outdoor spaces, supported by an organised and forward-thinking premises team. You will join a welcoming environment where your work is valued and where clear systems, supportive leadership and investment in the site make it possible to do the job well. The Role The Caretaker plays a vital role in ensuring the school remains safe, secure and presented at its best for students, staff and visitors. Key responsibilities include: Opening and closing the site, ensuring security of buildings and grounds Carrying out day-to-day maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY Preparing rooms and facilities for lessons, events and lettings Monitoring the condition of the premises and reporting issues promptly Supporting contractors on site Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation Assisting with health & safety checks and compliance procedures What the School Offers Excellent, well-maintained buildings and outdoor areas Clear procedures and supportive management Polite, well-motivated students A strong sense of teamwork across the premises function Ongoing training and development opportunities A community that values the contribution of support staff People we place at the school often highlight how organised, friendly and professional the working environment is.
