Job description
We are working with a vibrant and diverse secondary academy in Bedfordshire seeking an energetic and highly organised HR Manager. This is a school with a big heart and high aspirations, providing a dynamic environment where HR is the hub of the school's operational success. As a member of the administrative leadership team, you will be welcomed into a busy, collaborative office where the "family feel" is the school's greatest strength. The leadership team understands the challenges of an urban school environment and ensures you are fully supported with a robust welfare strategy and a commitment to your professional autonomy. The Role & Responsibilities You will be the hub of communication and personnel management for the school, ensuring that all staff are supported, compliant, and motivated. Casework Management: Leading on first-line advice for disciplinary and grievance matters, ensuring all processes follow ACAS best practices. Data Analytics: Producing monthly HR metrics for the Governors, including snapshots of staff turnover, diversity, and absence trends. Onboarding Excellence: Designing a 5-star induction journey for new starters to ensure high retention from day one. Trade Union Liaison: Maintaining positive and proactive relationships with local union representatives. Requirements Experience: At least 3 years in a generalist HR role, ideally within an Academy Trust. Skills: Strong multitasking abilities and a high level of proficiency in HRIS platforms. Right to Work: Must possess the legal right to work in the UK. Salary & Contract Details Salary Range: £39,500 – £48,500 (Regional Scale) Hours: Full-time | Permanent | ASAP Start
