Full-time, Permanent - April 2025 Start Are you a passionate and engaging Teacher of History with a desire to inspire students to explore the past within a faith-based context? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual, including ECTs , to join our thriving History department in a Church of England secondary school in Hillingdon. About the School: Our school is a welcoming and inclusive learning community where students are encouraged to develop their intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, and spiritual awareness. We provide a nurturing and supportive environment where students can explore their own beliefs and values, engage with the Christian faith, and develop their understanding of the role of religion in the world. About the History Department: The History department is a collaborative and dynamic team with a shared passion for bringing the past to life and exploring its relevance to the present. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of historical periods and themes, from ancient civilizations to modern world history. About the Role: Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including historical sources, debates, role-play, and technology, to bring History to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our History curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of History in students, encouraging them to explore the past, develop their research skills, and engage in critical analysis of historical events. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in History education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent (or is eligible to apply). Possesses excellent subject knowledge in History. Demonstrates a passion for teaching History and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for History and relevant examination specifications. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice. Is supportive of the school's Christian ethos and values.
