Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join a well-regarded secondary school in Gloucester from January 2026. This is a key leadership position that will give the successful candidate the chance to shape the school’s SEND provision and make a lasting impact on the outcomes of young people. Key Details • Full-time, permanent SENCO role starting January 2026 • Secondary school in Gloucester with strong inclusion and pastoral care • Senior responsibility with scope to shape and lead whole-school SEND strategy Experience and Qualifications • Qualified teacher with QTS and NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it) • Strong track record of working with students with SEND in a secondary setting • Ability to lead and inspire a team of specialist staff • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with families and external agencies • Commitment to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners • Legal right to work in the UK School Information • Ofsted Good with Outstanding features, praised for its pastoral provision and inclusive ethos • Excellent SEN team with strong specialist knowledge and resources • Collaborative and supportive SLT that prioritises teacher wellbeing and development • Inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and supports the holistic development of every student • A school community that values innovation and teamwork in meeting the needs of all learners Salary • Paid to scale on MPS / UPS with TLR Application • To be considered for this SENCO role, please forward an updated CV as soon as possible.
