Job description
We are currently seeking a hardworking, reliable and enthusiastic Site Assistant to join a busy and well-resourced secondary school in Milton Keynes. This full-time, permanent role begins January 2026 and provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in school premises management. About the School This secondary school is known for its excellent behaviour, supportive leadership and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe and modern learning environment. The premises team is friendly, highly valued and plays a key role in supporting the school’s daily operations. About the Role • Supporting the Site Manager with day-to-day operations • Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and inspections • Assisting with cleaning duties, grounds maintenance and waste management • Setting up rooms, assemblies and events • Monitoring heating, lighting, alarms and general building safety • Ensuring compliance with H&S guidelines and internal procedures • Providing practical support during emergencies, breakdowns or adverse weather • Liaising with staff and contractors as needed This is an active role involving manual handling, problem-solving and varied daily tasks. Experience and Qualifications • Experience in premises or maintenance roles desirable • Strong practical/building maintenance skills • Reliable, punctual and hardworking • Understanding of health & safety principles • Willingness to undertake training Salary Support staff scale, dependent on experience.
