Job description
A well-established and busy secondary school in Dartford is seeking a reliable, organised, and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP, providing essential support in managing financial records, transactions, and administrative tasks across the school. About the Role As a Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the Finance Manager and administrative staff to ensure accurate record-keeping, timely processing of invoices, and smooth operation of the school’s financial procedures. You will support budgeting, payroll, and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with statutory and school policies. The role requires strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. You will be an integral part of a team ensuring the financial operations of the school are accurate and effective. Key Responsibilities • Processing invoices, payments, and purchase orders accurately and on time • Maintaining financial records, spreadsheets, and databases • Supporting payroll administration and budget monitoring • Assisting with month-end and year-end financial procedures • Preparing reports for senior leadership and external auditors • Supporting school events and projects with financial administration • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures About the School This Dartford secondary school is recognised for academic excellence, positive student outcomes, and a professional, collaborative working culture.
