Chemistry Teacher - Mixed Independent School -Hammersmith

A highly respected and academically ambitious co-educational independent school in the Hammersmith area seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher for a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract commencing in April. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Chemistry lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5 (A-Level), covering core chemistry concepts and principles. Develop and implement effective lesson plans that incorporate practical investigations, demonstrations, and interactive learning activities to foster a deep understanding of chemistry. Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning and development in chemistry. Contribute to the smooth running of the Science department, including participating in departmental meetings and potentially assisting with extracurricular science activities. Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment within the chemistry laboratories. This is a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract starting in April. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background and specialism in Chemistry. Experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level, ideally across a range of key stages including GCSE and potentially A-Level. A thorough understanding of the secondary science curriculum and effective teaching strategies for Chemistry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities. Strong practical skills and experience in laboratory work, with a commitment to ensuring student safety. A passion for chemistry and a desire to share that enthusiasm with young people.
