Job description
An Outstanding High School in Haringey is looking for a permanent, full-time Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Religious Education (RE), starting January 2026. This is an excellent post in a high-profile, reflective department. About the School This outstanding school maintains a strong reputation for academic excellence and developing students' independent and deep thinking. The RE department is central to the school's ethos, fostering ethical debate and philosophical inquiry across all age groups. The environment is supportive, with clear structures and a commitment to minimizing unnecessary burdens, allowing new teachers to focus squarely on excellent classroom practice and professional development. Responsibilities You will deliver stimulating and rigorous instruction across Key Stages 3 and 4 (GCSE), with potential opportunity for KS5. Your focus is driving high attainment and fostering critical philosophical thinking, ethical reasoning, and respectful dialogue. You must actively engage with the school's ECT support and mentoring programme. You will contribute to the school's extensive PSHE and citizenship programmes. Requirements You must hold or be soon to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You must have the right to work in the UK. You must hold a Degree or have experience teaching Religious Education, Philosophy, or Theology. Benefits You'll receive an excellent salary paid on the national Teachers' Pay Scale (M/UPS), specifically designed to reward ECT progression. You'll be enrolled in the generous Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS). You'll benefit from a dedicated, bespoke ECT induction and mentoring programme.
