Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour Mentor to join one of Birmingham’s leading secondary schools as soon as possible. This is a full-time, permanent position within a high-achieving, inclusive and well-supported pastoral team. • Behaviour Mentor required – full-time, permanent • Outstanding 11–18 school in Birmingham • Key role within the pastoral and behaviour support team • ASAP start • Ideal for graduates, experienced mentors or those considering teacher training About the Role The school is seeking a proactive and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support students across KS3–KS5 in maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement. You will work closely with Heads of Year, the SENCo and senior leaders to provide targeted intervention for pupils who require additional behavioural or emotional support. The successful candidate will build strong, positive relationships with students, implement behaviour improvement strategies and support pupils both within lessons and through structured interventions outside the classroom. You will play a vital role in promoting a calm, purposeful learning environment across the school. This role would particularly suit an individual considering a future career in teaching, pastoral leadership or educational psychology. Experience and Qualifications • Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work or mentoring capacity desirable • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Ability to remain calm, consistent and professional in challenging situations • A proactive, solution-focused mindset • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing • Legal right to work in the UK School Information This Outstanding secondary school in Birmingham is widely recognised for its strong leadership, high expectations and positive student behaviour.
