Job description
A vibrant and creative secondary school in Twickenham is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Art Technician to join its thriving Art Department. This is a full-time, permanent role available for an immediate start, ideal for someone with practical art skills, organisational expertise, and a passion for supporting students in developing their creative abilities. The Art Department offers a broad and engaging curriculum that includes painting, drawing, textiles, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art. The Role As an Art Technician, you will provide practical and technical support to teaching staff and students to ensure the smooth delivery of lessons. Key responsibilities include: Preparing materials, equipment, and resources for practical Art lessons. Supporting teachers during lessons and assisting students with practical activities. Maintaining, organising, and managing Art resources, including storage of materials and tools. Assisting with the setup and installation of student work for displays and exhibitions. Ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of paints, chemicals, and tools. Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed to maintain resources. Supporting departmental projects, events, and creative initiatives. Candidate Requirements Experience working with art materials and techniques, ideally in a school or creative environment. Organised, proactive, and reliable with strong attention to detail. Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to practical Art lessons. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to support staff and students effectively. Enthusiasm for supporting creativity and learning in a school setting.
