Job description
A prominent independent senior school that is part of a high-achieving family of schools in Hertfordshire seeks a dedicated Geography Teacher starting January 2026. This role focuses on delivering a challenging curriculum and leading essential fieldwork within a highly structured academic environment. Responsibilities Deliver highly effective Geography teaching across the 11-18 age range, preparing pupils for high achievement at GCSE and A-Level. Plan and lead essential fieldwork trips, promoting the practical application of geographical concepts in a safe, educational manner. Contribute to the school's enrichment program, supporting activities that enhance global and environmental awareness. Provide robust pastoral care to a Form or Tutor Group, monitoring student welfare and academic progress. Maintain rigorous standards of academic output and student conduct in all lessons. Requirements A strong degree in Geography and proven success in teaching up to A-Level in a selective school. Demonstrated ability to create a highly focused and disciplined learning environment. Seeking a Geography Teacher committed to promoting strong academic outcomes and curriculum delivery. Strong organizational skills, particularly related to planning fieldwork and logistics. The successful Geography Teacher must be an excellent communicator, capable of inspiring intellectual debate in small classes.
