Job description
We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join the site team at a high-achieving and well-regarded secondary school in Bath, Somerset . The campus features modern classrooms, science laboratories, sports facilities, and landscaped grounds. The school’s leadership team prides itself on maintaining an inspiring and secure environment that supports learning and community spirit. The site team plays a crucial part in ensuring that the school operates smoothly on a daily basis. Staff enjoy working within a supportive and professional environment, where teamwork, respect, and high standards are valued. Role Information The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the security, cleanliness, and general upkeep of the school site. Duties will include opening and closing the premises, performing minor repairs, liaising with contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting events and lettings as required. You will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the school remains a safe and pleasant place for students, staff, and visitors. Experience and Qualifications • Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role desirable • Good understanding of health and safety, security, and basic building maintenance • Strong practical, organisational, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • A flexible, positive, and reliable attitude Salary Paid according to experience and local support staff pay scale Application This Caretaker position offers a fantastic opportunity to join a high-achieving Bath school that values professionalism, teamwork, and pride in maintaining an exceptional learning environment.
