Job description
A large and well-established 11–18 academy in Sheffield is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Curriculum & Cover Administrator to join its central operations team. Serving over 1,300 students, the school is known for its structured systems, strong leadership presence and clear expectations around punctuality, attendance and operational efficiency. The curriculum and cover function is essential to the smooth running of the school day, and this role sits at the centre of daily coordination. The Role As Senior Curriculum & Cover Administrator, you will oversee daily staff cover arrangements while also supporting curriculum timetabling processes throughout the academic year. Your responsibilities will include: • Coordinating daily staff absence cover and room allocations • Liaising with teaching staff and supply agencies • Maintaining accurate timetable data on the school MIS • Supporting mid-year timetable adjustments and curriculum changes • Preparing cover and staffing reports for senior leadership • Assisting with internal examination rooming logistics • Ensuring continuity of learning through organised scheduling This role requires early-morning readiness, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to last-minute changes. Behaviour systems are consistent, leadership is visible and expectations around punctuality and communication are high. The operations team works closely with senior leaders to ensure the school day runs seamlessly. The administrative function is highly valued, with defined systems in place for cover, timetabling and reporting. The school benefits from robust MIS systems and established procedures that support efficient coordination. About You • Previous experience in school cover or curriculum administration • Strong organisational and scheduling skills • Ability to remain calm under pressure • Confident working with MIS systems and Microsoft Excel • Clear communicator with professional judgement • Flexible and proactive approach Experience in a large secondary school setting would be highly advantageous.
